What Does Botox Do?

Botox is one of the most popular cosmetic treatments for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. With just a few simple injections, Botox relaxes the facial muscles responsible for creating wrinkles, giving you a smoother, more youthful appearance.

615 Aesthetics is proud to carry all 5 FDA-approved brands of botulinum toxins products used in cosmetic treatments including:

  • BOTOX® (onabotulinumtoxinA)
  • Dysport (abobotulinumtoxinA)
  • Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA)
  • Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA)
  • Daxxify (daxibotulinumtoxinA-lanm)

Before Your Appointment

  1. Don't Stress. Our providers will first consult with you to review your medical history and understand your skincare goals.
  2. There is always risk of bruising and bleeding when we are injecting. If you have an event following your appointment please try to avoid blood-thinning substances for about a week prior to your appointment. Examples include aspirin, ibuprofen, and alcohol, to reduce the risk of bruising. Over the counter arnica and fresh pineapple can also help reduce the risk of bruising.
  3. Stay hydrated and healthy: Ensure you're well-hydrated and eat a balanced meal before your appointment.
  4. It is best to arrive with no makeup: We love a clean face, but will wipe you down regardless.

After Your Appointment

Post Care Instructions

  • The treatment may take up to 2-3 weeks to take full effect.
  • Do NOT lie head down flat, touch, or rub the treated areas for at least 4 hours.
  • Avoid wearing hats or headbands after treatment.
  • It is best to try to exercise your treated muscles for 1-2 hours after treatment (e.g. practice frowning, raise your eyebrows, and squint). This helps to work the product into your muscles.
  • Avoid Aspirin, Motrin, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acids at least 3 days to 1 week after treatment. These items may increase bleeding and bruising.
  • You may take Acetaminophen/Tylenol if you experience any mild tenderness/discomfort.
  • You may ice the injection sites (but avoid firm pressure) for 15 minutes 3 times a day if needed.
  • Avoid the use of Retin-A or similar products (ex. Kinerase, Tazarac) 2 days after treatment to avoid increased irritation or redness.
  • Avoid cosmetic treatments such as laser, ultrasound, peels, facials or micro-dermabrasion for 2 weeks after treatment with Dysport®, Botox®, or any of our other FDA approved Neurotoxins..
  • Please report to your provider if any increased pain, increased swelling, redness, blisters, or itching immediately, should it occur following your treatment.
